Old Blue Eyes Upon Us | Megan & Benjamin’s nostalgic spring wedding at Frank Sinatra’s historic Twin Palms estate in Palm Springs, CA was filled with style and excitement. But it was Megan’s cheerful spirit and Benjamin’s carefree energy that set the tone for their celebration and made the fun time we shared with them all the more memorable.
Ben, Ari and I pushed ourselves creatively on this shoot & we hope that shines through in the trailer. Enjoy,
-Kevin

This was a fun shoot and the trailer turned out great. The B-roll of the estate looked awesome as well. It’s always good to have an interesting location to shoot and you captured the feel & nostalgia of the day extremely well in this piece. I look forward to collaborations like this for years to come. Nice work, Kevin.
The added difficulty in incorporating all of the jib, slider, steadicam and DoF adapter footage into a relatively limited space (& timeframe) was a huge challenge but I think well worth it in the end. As Ari said, its always nice to have an interesting location, not to mention a great couple. Definitely a fun shoot.
Ok seriously, this feels like I’m watching a trailer for a romantic comedy. You managed to capture the 1950s/60s with the music and the surroundings and still keep us in the present with the style. Incredible!!! Standing ovation!!!
Wow. I can’t really say anything more than that b/c at the moment I am speechless.
Excellent work guys. I love the shots of the estate at the beginning.
I really liked that. Kudos.
Yo Kev, that was awesome! What jib were you guys using?
Hi Chris - this was an old tripod based cobra crane we’ve had for years.
Hey Kevin, great trailer. I assume you’re still using the A1? What are you using for color grading? I notice most of your A1 clips look way better than most of the others I have seen online. Thanks for your help. -Jason
Hi Jason, yes this clip is entirely A1. I color mostly with some custom presets and a bit in Magic Bullet, but our goal is to use the art direction, on-set lighting and camera presets to nail as much of the look we want on the set. Thanks for watching and for your comments.
I can’t even put into words how thankful we are to have this moment captured in such a unique and beatuiful format. I still want to cry when I watch it. Thank you so much! –Megan Crockett Kuntz
You’re so welcome! The pleasure was all ours!!
Kevin, the edit and shot flow/movement built perfectly with the score. More importantly, the level of movement you used was completely appropriate to the feel of the piece. When I see work like this (and knowing how much of our equipment was used in it) I truly get excited about the innovations we’ve got coming..and the magic you’ll make with them. Cinevate’s mission is simply to help cinematographers to tell their stories. I’d be hard pressed to find a better example than what I just watched here.
Cheers,

Thanks, Dennis. The A1 + Brevis combination really excelled here. The pegasus was a huge value-add as well. This would’ve been a totally different film without them. I look forward to exploring new ways of incorporating these tools in the future.
Wow this video is amazing!!! I am in love!!!! Palm Springs & Sinatra’s house for a wedding location is genius!!! I am soo hiring you guys for my wedding!
Words cannot describe how amazed I am by your work…The crane shots are so perfect, and never did I think a Sinatra song could work like this (due to it’s overuse in weddings) but it is perfect…You are one of the biggest, if not THE biggest influence on the wedding film industry…Thank you for sharing this. It’s beautiful.
I was also truly impressed with the film with the butterfly…It was a movie that I would want to watch in the theater. I am amazed. Great job at Zacuto and Keep it up!!
